What is Sounds of PDX?

Sounds of PDX is a multi-faceted music information site focused on the music scene in Portland, Oregon. I work with recording studios, musicians, and producers to bring you the best sounds to be found in this great city. I am also focused on cross-promotion of local shows and events in order to best serve my readers and listeners.

In addition to this site, Sounds of PDX is the name of a weekly radio show I host on Portland Radio Project. Each week, I invite a different local musician, producer, or promoter to co-host the show with me. Catch the show on Thursdays from 7-9pm. If you are interested in co-hosting or being otherwise involved, please use the “Contact” page shown above.

You can also catch me every month hosting "PDX Spotlight", a local television show featuring performances and interviews with Northwest-based musicians.

Who is Luke Neill?

At my core, I am a musician, songwriter, producer, studio owner/engineer, and, most importantly, a lover of all things music. It is my goal to help connect listeners to local artists by providing music and live show reviews. I believe we should all be searching for the next thing that inspires us.

I am originally from Arizona, where over many years, I played in several different independent bands in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. I put in many, many hours of grassroots-style promotion in order to get my bands heard. I am excited to now run Sounds of PDX, where I can provide another avenue to local Portland musicians to promote their crafts.
